Quality Assurance

Standards

Our facilities and processes adhere to the highest local and international industry standards and certifications and are audited regularly for compliance.

We have Quality Assurance laboratories at Gladstone, Port Kembla, Geelong and Toowoomba that provide support to our receival sites and Ports terminals on the east coast of Australia.

Testing activities at these sites are certified to ISO 9001:2015 standards. Toowoomba also holds a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accreditation for compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 for a range of tests. We are also accredited under the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) approved analysis scheme for the provision of GAFTA certificates.

Quality Assurance for Export Customers

Our laboratories help manage quality risks, expectations and requirements for our export customers, creating a seamless process from export nomination to the loading and quality certification of a vessel.

The services include a risk assessment of Australian and overseas regulatory requirements, cargo quality and stock selection and sample management.

GrainCorp’s seven port terminals are serviced by laboratories located onsite and the site’s testing activities are accredited under AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015 and ISTA Seed Sampling.

These laboratories are equipped with automated sampling systems and trade-certified testing equipment for quality analysis during cargo accumulation and loading to ensure customer requirements are met.

Our facilities also have Halal certification.

Pest Control

Pest control is a crucial part of our operations, as it helps us maintain our high food security processes as well as customer satisfaction levels.

We use integrated pest management (IPM) approaches to maintain protection at our sites. We also do this through fumigation and controlled atmospheres.

All of our plants have strict hygiene standards to control insects, weeds, birds and rodents. These are backed up by pest control systems that cover requirements across food safety, customer and regulatory areas.
